This is the wine that started it all. I was introduced to the ’97 Central Coast Merlot during my first-ever wine-tasting trip. It was a drive to Sonoma that included a stop at a small winery in Sebastopol called Taft Street. Among the wines they had was this amazingly easy-drinking Merlot.
It’s been years since I’ve had a sip of this wine. I do still have a few bottles of this left that I’ve been saving for a special occasion. I know it’s about time to drink it, probably a bit past it’s prime, actually. When I do finally open it up, I’ll provide more details.
